Aled Roberts
Director and VP of bp - Global Vetting & Clearance
As VP of bp's Global Vetting & Clearance team, Aled is responsible for overseeing the setting of standards for all third-party vessels chartered by bp for the transportation of owned and traded cargoes. This includes working with stakeholders across the organization to ensure that all vessels meet bp's strict safety and environmental standards.

Previously he served as the regional vetting and assurance manager for the Americas region, where he was accountable for ensuring that all vessels operating in the region met bp's safety and environmental standards. Aled's career in the maritime industry spans more than 40 years, including significant seagoing experience sailing on oil, gas, and chemical tankers, as well as being a marine consultant and accredited SIRE and CDI ship inspector.

He is a past Board member of the Chamber of Shipping of America and currently chairs the OCIMF Publication & Advocacy - Tanker, Barge and Terminal's principal committee. He is committed to advancing industry standards, continuous improvement and promoting safe and sustainable shipping practices.
